A bill to ban all animal testing on cosmetics testing has passed the Assembly in Brazil today. The bill was supported by Representative Izar and members of the Assembly.

Cruelty Free International had been petitioning the president of Brazil for an early vote on the bill.

Frank Alarcon, Cruelty Free International Brazil’s campaign manager, said:
“We congratulate the Assembly for passing this historical Bill to end the cruel use of animals in cosmetics testing. The support of hundreds of thousands of Brazilians made this possible and we’d like to thank everyone for helping in this campaign.”

The Bill now moves to the Senate, and Cruelty Free International will continue to campaign for it to be passed.
